Alternative Raw Materials

By using a specifically developed process, a variety of wastes including foundry sands, waste alumina, waste powders, filter cake, lime and various smelting slags can be blended to meet the stringent product specifications of the aggregates & cement industry. By working with producers of these wastes, JBMI helps them to reduce the volume of material being sent to landfill sites and the environmental impact of hazardous waste disposal each year.

The resulting Alternative Raw Materials are used by our customers to create efficient building materials which can replace virgin quarried material and help conserve the reserves of these natural resources. As an example, the use of Alternative Raw Materials allows cement to be manufactured with reduced CO2 emissions.
